The season of Advent begins this Sunday, December 1 and continues through December 24. The season of Advent is a time of year in which we remember the longing of all people for a savior and redeemer. Through this season leading up to Christmas, we await the birth of Christ, the Messiah, who perfectly fulfills the promises of old and fills the longing of every heart. Each week in worship, we will light candles to represent our growing anticipation for the coming of the light of Christ into the world. On Christmas Eve, we celebrate Christ’s coming by lighting the center “Christ candle”.
